Simple Cocktail Party

Here's a simple refreshing cocktail drink that is easy to make and delicious too. Consisting of ice cream soda, fruit syrup and nata de coco, it's a fun little concoction that tickles the tastebuds - while being smooth-tasting for adults.

Equipment

  • Tall glass
  • Stirring spoon
  • Straw
  • Measuring Cup
  • Shotglass
  • Food Tongs

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp fruit cocktail, with syrup
  • 1 tbsp nata de coco, with syrup
  • 2 tbsp syrup, 1 tbsp from fruit cocktail & 1 tbsp from nata de coco
  • 230 ml ice cream soda
  • 1/2 tbsp lime juice, from 2/3 of lime
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 25 ml rum, optional (1 shotglass)
  • 1 mint shoot with leaves
  • ice cubes

Instructions
 

  • Mix together the fruit cocktail, nata de coco and syrup in a tall glass.
  • Pour in the ice cream soda.
  • Stir in salt and lime juice until combined.
  • Add the rum and mix well (optional).
  • Add some ice cubes to chill the drink. Top with ice cream soda to the preferred level in the glass and garnish with mint shoot.

Notes

Tips
  • Alcohol has a lighter density than nata de coco, so the cocktail (with alcohol in it) will show nata de coco sinking with the fruit cocktail, as opposed to the non-alcoholic mocktail, which has the nata de coco floating just below the ice.
  • Lime juice is always great with sweet soda and salt to get that delicious twist of sweet, sour and salty in cocktails.
  • Drink responsibly, and please treat yourself to this drink once in a while as it is incredibly sweet but refreshing.
